Oli is Head of Music at Stroud High School, where he leads a range of vocal and instrumental ensembles.

Before moving to Dursley, he lived in Bristol for 10 years, where he studied Music at the University of Bristol and co-led multiple choirs and music groups, including Riff Raff Choir, Handfuls of Harmony and Footlights Performance Academy.

Oli has performed in and conducted vocal groups all across Bristol including the Hippodrome, Bristol Beacon and St George’s as well as taking groups of musicians to perform further afield, including Disneyland Paris and Amsterdam.

Oli is always excited about getting people singing together and Is looking forward to bringing more music to Dursley.

Hannah is a HR & Business Manager for a Healthcare organisation in Bristol and is the administrator for Dursley Rock & Pop Choir managing the communications, social media channels and emails.

Hannah moved to Dursley at the start of 2024 after living in Bristol and growing up in Devon.

Hannah is looking forward to getting more Involved with the local community and sharing a love for music.

Founded in 2024, Dursley Rock & Pop Choir is an inclusive choir, welcoming anyone over the age of 18.

Dursley Rock & Pop Choir is a community based venture, not affiliated to or a franchise of any national organisation.

No previous singing experience or the ability to read music is necessary.

We will be singing entirely original arrangements of rock and pop classics from the 1960s to the present day.

We will run three 10 week 'terms' per year. Check the Home page for the latest dates.

I joined DRAPC at its inception. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Oli is inspirational. He makes rehearsal fun, the arrangements challenging and our performances relaxed. The choir is very welcoming to all ages. It’s pure joy singing with others. Hannah ensures we all know where we need to be, what we need to do and when we need to pay. I’m sure it’s a lot of hard work but she makes it seem effortless. Oli & Hannah make a brilliant team.

I love being part of Dursley Rock and pop choir and Wednesday night is my favourite night of the week! Such a friendly group of people who just love singing together. Oli is so encouraging and makes the choir fun!

I joined the choir at its inception as I I’ve always enjoyed singing around the house. I haven’t been in a choir since school in the 60s! I didn’t know what to expect but it has been an absolute joy. Oli is inspirational and he ensures learning the songs is interesting & enjoyable. Hannah works tirelessly making sure all administrative aspects are taken care of. We are a very diverse group of all ages and everyone is really friendly. I highly recommend it.

I absolutely love being part of this choir. Rehearsals are something I look forward too in my busy week and being part of the performances is such an honour!!

To be completely honest, before I started singing in the choir I didn’t think I could sing, I joined because I enjoy singing.

What the choir has given me is the confidence to just sing and in doing so I relaxed and that meant I was thinking less about how I sounded and I just started to be completely present in the moment, which means I switch off the outside world for a few hours a week.

Singing communally, whether at a gig, at a football match or in a choir has this amazing power to form connections with those around you and as humans I believe that connecting with others is one of the fundamental elements that help to foster good mental health and allow us to become truer versions of ourselves.

I can not put into words how much joy and happiness being part of Dursley Rock & Pop Choir has brought to my life. It makes my heart and my voice sing. I just love singing, it makes me feel good. I can’t believe how quickly Oli can get us to sing a song in 4 parts, and it sounds really good!!!

As a young adult new to the area, the choir has allowed me to connect with people in the local and surrounding areas. It's a rewarding, positive, and joyful place to be!

Thanks for choir - 2 hours a week for me - midweek boost to see me through the week. A chance to meet new people, laugh, feel part of a community and sing. Ollie knows how to get us to sing together and arranges beautiful music and Hannah organises it all behind the scenes.

Choir is so much fun. A place to forget everything else, make friends, and learn to belt out a song in a couple of hours (and I don’t have a good voice). Oli and Hannah are brilliant, thank-you 🙏🏻
